XI SERIES: TIEMPO LEGEND

The Nike Tiempo Legend is one of the most well known football boots available. It has recently had to deal with the rise of Adidas’ AdiPure, Puma King and now the Umbro Speciali but it remains a true contender in the touch boot market. As you can see by the team we have chosen it is also a boot that is happy in any position.
Strikers:
Carlos Tevez went over to the Blue side… and what an impact he has had! Manchester City have come to rely on Tevez as much as United rely on Rooney. It is a pity the two of them can’t play together anymore.
Carlton Cole has been an immense plus for West Ham. The English striker has forced his way into Fabio Cappelo’s England plans with his fine performances.
Midfielders:
Joe Cole. We actually prefer the Chelsea midfielder on the left. Since his return from injury he has been deployed more centrally. With the likes of Gerrard and Lampard available for England, left wing is an easier spot to secure.
Jermain Jenas hasn’t had much luck with injuries this season. The Spurs midfielder has good pace and vision and can be a threat from anywhere on the pitch.
Darren Flecther’s stock has risen recently. The Scottish captain has become one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s most important players. A strong combative midfielder.
Ji-Sung Park is another player Fergie seems to pick when the ‘big’ games come around. The Korean’s work rate energy levels make him a useful player to have on the pitch.
Defenders:
Javier Garrido is in his 3rd year at the City of Manchester Stadium but has found it hard to secure a regular place in the City 11. Since the arrival of Roberto Mancini, his appearances seem to be increasing– as are his performances.
Steven Mouyokolo was being tracked by Arsenal before he left Boulogne to join Hull City. His only goal for Hull came against Chelsea in a 1-1 draw on 2 February 2010.
Vincent Kompany has been a valuable member of the Manchester City squad thanks to his versatility. His pace and strength have been an asset both when playing in defense or midfield.
Juliano Belletti looks to be on his way out of Chelsea. The Brazilian right back has a dangerous long range shot and has seen himself deployed as a defensive midfielder as well as a right winger.
Goal Keeper:
Tim Howard is one of the best keepers in the league at the moment. The ex-Manchester United stopper has been brilliant between the sticks for Everton. He will hope that the USA national team can find similar form come the World Cup.
Who do you think should be part of the Tiempo Legend XI?
