NEW NIKE COLOURWAYS
Nike have released new colourways for their T90 Laser III and CTR360 Maestri II and Tiempo Legend III boots.
The T90 Laser III arrives in a clean, crisp looking White/Black/Chlorine Blue colourway. The boot is predominantly white (so we expect so see Fernando Torres in a pair of these) while the strike-zone on the instep and the silicon pods are black. The heel counter and sole plate feature a great looking pattern detail. The colourway is brought to life by the suttle ‘chlorine’ highlight around the Nike tick on the outstep and the sole.

Nike seem to be toning down their colourways with the new White/Black/Tour Yellow CTR360 Maestri II colourway also having a very clean look to it.The bold vibrant yellow and white are complimented by the addition of a silver trim and the contrasting black laces and Nike tick.

Nike have also, along with the new synthetic T90 Laser III colourway, released a colourway specifically for the K-Leather version. Obsidian is a colour we have seen used often by Nike and have used it as the base colour for this new Dark Obsidian/Metallic Silver/Blue K-Leather version.

The final colourway is the new Team Red/Metallic Platinum/Deep Burgundy Tiempo Legend III boots. The Tiempos are a legendary boot series and we look forward to the new IV, which will be replacing the III soon. This colourway reminds o us of the Oxblood Speciali and judging by the reception those had we believe this release will be a successful one for Nike. They will look great with the Liverpool, Manchester United and AC Milan kits so we expect to see the likes of Joe Cole, Park Ji-Sung and Andrea Pirlo in the new colourway.

All of the colourways – with the exception of the K-Leather T90 Laser III – will be available in both ’standard’ and Elite versions. There as been no word on a new Vapor VI and Superfy II colourway which makes us wonder if the new Vapor VII and Superfly III are on their way… Stay tuned to TRW for more on that.

ROBBIE KEANE’S CUSTOM 100 CAPS NIKE T90 LASER III BOOTS

The World Cup is over and just before the start of the new domestic competitions, Fifa has stuck in an international friendly date. The games couldn’t come at a worse time for some managers and players while others wont mind the opportunity to blood some new faces. One man that will be looking forward to his international tie is Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane. The Republic of Ireland skipper will win his 100th cap for his country when they face Argentina in the new Aviva Stadium in Dublin. To celebrate his amazing achievement, Robbie has been given a unique custom pair of Nike T90 Laser III boots.

The unique colourway is based on the original Electric Green colourway the boots were first released in. Incorporated into the colourway is the white and orange of the national flag as well as his squad number, 100th Cap, Ireland flag and the name and date of birth of his son embroided onto the side of the boots.

Other international friendlies to watch out for:
USA v Brazil
England v Hungary
Ukraine v Netherlands
Denmark v Germany
South Africa v Ghana
Mexico v Spain
NEW NIKE CTR360, T90 LASER III AND TIEMPO LEGEND III COLOURWAYS
Nike released a stack of new colouways over the weekend, most of which made their Premier League debut. We take a look at three of them here.
The first is what has quickly become known as the ‘Arsenal’ CTR360. Their official name is Team Red/Metallic Gold/Metallic White and they were first seen on T.R.W in an article about Owen Hargreaves’ playing return last week Thursday. We expect these to become the boot Cesc Fabregas can’t be seen without (except for this weekend) and possibly the likes of James Milner too. This colourway would also be complimentary to the kits of West Ham and Burnley. Irrelevant of whoever wears them, they are a great addition to the CTR360 range.

The second boot is the exotically named Neptune Blue/Vibrant Yellow/Black T90 Laser football boots. They made their scoring debut on the feet of Wayne Rooney. Rooney slotted home against Liverpool after his penalty had initially been saved by Pepe Reina. This eye-catching colourway is another in a long line of ‘crazy’ colour combinations Nike have released. No club plays in ‘Neptune Blue’ kits so we are not really sure who to recommend these to. Aston Villa’s sleeves are about as close as it gets.

The last pair is a classic black pair of Tiempo Legend III football boots. The name, Black/White/Metallic Gold isn’t as fancy sounding as ‘Team Red’ or ‘Neptune Blue’ but Tiempos aren’t about being flashy. The Tiempos have built a real name for themselves in the Touch/Heritage market. Their soft leather and quality build make them strong, reliable and comfortable. These boots also made a scoring debut against Liverpool. Well if Park Ji-Sung’s head counts…

XI SERIES: T90 LASER

What a strike partnership we have in this XI! A Manchester United powerhouse and Merseyside Spaniard. It will never happen. But we can dream about it! It doesn’t stop there however. A solid back four, some great attacking wingers and midfielders makes this dream XI a real force. The new T90 Laser III are real eye-catchers. Our XI won’t be boring to watch either.
So who gets into The Right Winger’s dream T90 Laser XI?
Strikers:
Wayne Rooney is showing maturity. Why do we say that as our opening line? Much of the criticism that has been leveled against Rooney revolves around his ‘red mist’ and young age. Well this season is shutting everyones mouths. Rooney is adding facets to his attack daily it seems, as he becomes a world great.
Fernando Torres is a Kop hero. The Spanish striker’s pace and power makes him a continuous threat. Fernando is one of those strikers who can form a chance out of nowhere. Lets hope his injury problems get sorted out.
Midfielders:
Ryan Babel has pace, a great left foot and attacking intent. He hasn’t quite proved to be the force many thought he would be on his arrival at Liverpool. We believe there is plenty of untapped potential here however. The question is can anyone get it out?
Paul Scholes is a living (or playing) legend. 100 goals in over 400 Premier League games proves how good he is. His 35 year old legs don’t carry him as fast as they used to and and Scholes finds himself playing a little deeper these days. He can still pick a pass!
Michael Essien. What more can be said about the Ghanaian midfield enforcer. I don’t think there is a club in the world who don’t wish they could pick him in their XI. Power, speed, strength and accuracy, add to that an African heart and you have an unstoppable, game-winning dynamo.
Julien Faubert didn’t impress anyone when he was on loan at Real Madrid. However, since his return to West Ham, Faubert has shown just how much he has to offer. And now people are impressed. Usually deployed at right back, Julien’s pace, attacking prowess and good crossing ability sees him move forward to the wing for us.
Defenders:
Patrice Evra is arguably the best left back in the Premier League. His obvious challenger is Ashley Cole. Both are fast, tricky, attacking and cleverly defensive full backs. A main stay in the United back four, Evra seem to be immune to injuries.
Rio Ferdinand has had a tough year. Out for a long time with a niggling back injury as well as a suspension, he is now back. His back problems seem to be sorted and with the England armband being passed onto him, Rio will want to show just how good he is come World Cup time.
Martin Skrtel is a hard-tackling and tough centre back. A perfect match for Rio Ferdinand who is used to having Vidic and Terry next to him. The Liverpool defender has also struggled with injuries lately. He will look to put that behind him and help Liverpool push for that Champions League spot.
Branislav Ivanovic Has been brilliant for Chelsea. The versatile Serbian has taken command of their right flank. He has been a stand out performer for the Blues this season and we believe deserves more credit for the job he is doing.
Goal Keeper:
Marcus Hahnemann is perhaps slightly underrated. Hanging out behind the Wolves defense is never going to be an easy job. The big American does a good job however. The fact that he is one of the only keepers to wear T90 Lasers means he gets to play alongside some pretty good players and a great back four.
Who do you think should be part of the T90 Laser XI?

NIKE’S T90 LASER III HITS SOUTH AFRICA
Although the T90 Laser III boots have been around since December last year, they have taken a little while to reach South African shores. Now that they are finally here we can expect to see many players wearing these eye catching boots! Electric green indeed! They have served Wayne Rooney well so far this term. The Manchester United and England striker has bagged an impressive 19 goals in the Premier League so far this season to make him the league’s top scorer.
Total90 Laser III – Deadly Accurate

The deadly finisher relies on instinct and flawless execution to turn a game in the blink of an eye. Constantly striving for the perfect strike of the ball this tireless fighter lives and breathes to score goals.
This is a player whose match winning abilities are memorable for an unstoppable volley one minute that electrifies the crowd, to a decisive tackle the next that breaks up a threatening play. Literally leading from the front, they use their power game and pin point accuracy to capitalize on the slightest opportunity and bury the ball in the back of the net.
Designed for the player who loves scoring goals and delivers laser like accuracy at game changing moments, the third generation Total90 Laser III gives players the freedom to strike the ball in every way possible without compromising accuracy. The result is a boot that provides focused power and precision in equal measure for game winning success.
Total90 Laser III Design Story

In creating a third generation of the Total90 Laser III boot Nike’s design team broke down the action of kicking into specific elements to help them gain even deeper understanding of the boot to ball relationship.
In particular, the design team paid specific attention to the instep area and how players connect and swerve the ball. The team looked closely at the optimum state of geometry to produce maximum goals when it matters most.
This focus on the boot to ball relationship was the catalyst to ensure players could connect better for truer strikes and leverage surface friction for maximum swerve. One of the key objectives being to create a cleaner surface for even pressure distribution that improves power and accuracy when striking the ball directly.
The result is a newly configured Shot Shield that features several innovations enabling players to connect with the ball cleaner for a true strike without sacrificing accuracy.
Master Your Game with Nike Football+
Nike Football+ (nikefootball.com) will also be available with the launch of Total90 Laser III. With interactive accuracy training drills and expert tuition provided by the coaching team at Juventus FC, every player can now master their skills with top professional insights.
Additionally, Nike Football+ will have exclusive access to detailed signature moves delivered by Fernando Torres of Liverpool FC and Michael Essien of Chelsea FC, along with access to country Nike Football+ activities, like training sessions, trial events and player appearances. Nike Football+ is also available as an Apple® App available for iPhone and iPod.
Increased friction, More Swerve:

Engineered Fins – raised TPU fins on the medial side of the boot deliver increased friction on ball contact to ensure more directive striking. The result is more swerve when you need it most. Each fin is strategically angled and sized to enhance control over the ball’s trajectory, but folds on contact with the ball to accommodate great touch and feel.
These fins create a full instep that is built exactly to player specification for maximum adaptable swerve wherever the ball connects with the strike zone.
Greater Precision at High Velocity:
Modular Instep Pod Configuration – five pods create a uniform contact point that helps evenly distribute pressure upon ball impact. This modular configuration helps increase precision at high velocity. The pods are configured as five individual units that operate as one, ensuring they remain flexible and fluid when interacting with the foot.
Enhanced Accuracy:
Advanced shape-correcting memory foam – a layer of advanced shape correcting memory foam round the surface of the foot provides a smooth and more consistent surface to enhance accuracy when shooting. This unique foam adapts to the demands of the individual player.
Throughout the Total90 Laser III development process a top tier group of athletes were actively involved in providing input and extensive testing of the new boot. Fernando Torres of Liverpool and Spain has been one of the leading players helping to bring the vision of the boot to the pitch while ensuring accuracy and flexibility are key features for all sharp shooters.

Reconfigured eyestay – the eyestay has been repositioned to a more asymmetrical position to allow a cleaner ball strike surface and easier fit and adjustment of the boot.
Kanga-Lite synthetic leather - improves the boot’s overall fit, comfort and performance whatever the conditions.
This unique material maintains the fit, feel and stretch of traditional leather but maintains its integrity and fit qualities over the life of the boot. Kanga-Lite’s engineered properties also mean the upper does not absorb moisture in wet conditions. The result is boots that are built light and stay light over the course of a game.
Stability enhancements – reinforced external heel counter on the lateral side for maximum comfort and stability. Torsional bar reinforcement on outsole for added stability.
Asymmetric tongue design – a curved tongue ensures the material follows the natural lines of the foot to avoid unnatural restriction of movement. Welded Lycra construction reduces seams and maximizes comfort.
Color schematic – in keeping with the aggressive styling of the Total90 Laser III design the color palate features a highly distinctive electric green, red and black combination for added visibility on the pitch.
