The answer is Umbro Stealth Pro. Spurs boasted three players in Stealth Pros when they hosted Arsenal with both Bentley and Naughton sporting the White/Black/Red colourway while Palacios opted for the Silver/Black version.

Tottenham’s Stealth Pro following doesn’t end there however as Kyle Walker (currently on loan to QPR) is also a Stealth Pro wearer. Michael Dawson is another Spurs player who wears Umbro boots – but the England defender prefers to wear the Speciali. At TRW, we are big fans of both boots and we are pleased to see them getting some good game time.

The Stealth Pros are a speed/control hybrid with an upper that features microfibre air pockets inside the synthetic leather to make the boot lighter. The carbon fibre shank and a hefty external heel counter gives you great stability and the external heel foxing+ carbon protection provides great support. Umbro put a lot of time and money into developing the Stealth Pro. They wanted to create a boot that was light, had a great touch and protected your foot. The tongue moulds to the top of your foot providing a snug fit and protection against hard tackles thanks to the Pro Fit- memory foam.

This new Black/Lime colourway will undoubtedly be a big success in the Premier League. Look out for these on the feet of players such as Gael Clichy, Phil Jagileka and Michael Mancienne.

The Speciali has become one of the best Heritage/Touch boots on the market with the likes of John Terry, Deco, Wilson Palacios and Darren Bent sporting them.  Umbro held a competition to design the sole plates for players to wear at the World Cup. Judging from the colourways they have been releasing, they don’t need any help with design!

The newest version is a gorgeous looking White colourway with Gold accents around the heel and Wembley inspired “A-frame” arch.  We at TRW think this is the best colourway they have released.

You can expect these classy looking White/Gold boots to be available from 1st May.

The other colourway is a Silver/Black version of their newest boot; the Stealth Pro. Arsenal’s Gael Clichy had this to say about the Stealth Pros: “The Stealth is a revolutionary step by Umbro in boot design. They really aid my speed and touch on the pitch with their lightweight material and molded design. I can’t wait to test them against some of the best players in the Premier League.” It is funny that he sang their praise so highly. Clichy hasn’t worn them yet competitively as he continues to prefer his SX Flare football boots. That doesn’t mean they haven’t been a success in the Premier League however. David James has been prolific for Portsmouth in the Stealth Pro while a very interesting boot spot is David Bentley. The Tottenham Hotspur winger has been wearing the original White/Red colourway.

This Silver/Black version is yet another great colourway from the Manchester based football company.

The Stealth Pro is hard to categorise.  It is in theory a speed boot but with its low-profile styling, comfortable fit and strong build  it is left looking more like a hybrid boot. (Perhaps a direct challenger to the CTR360?) Modern footballers are more ‘all-round’ than they used to be and boots such as the Stealth Pro are gaining respect and desirability more and more.
