PUMA POWERCAT 1.2 – BLACK/FLUORESCENT YELLOW/BLUE
Puma have released their newest PowerCat 1.2 football boot colourway – Black/Fluorescent Yellow/Blue which will be debuted on pitch by Marco Reus in the most important match of the year this weekend. Reus, who has been an instrumental figure in the Borussia Dortmund’s successes on the road to the UEFA Champions League final, will wear his new PowerCat colourway for the first time at Wembley.
Marco Reus said, “Reaching the Champions League final is the biggest moment of my career so far and I cannot wait to walk out on this great football stage at the weekend. My first season at Borussia Dortmund with the whole Champions League tournament has been extremely exciting, and going to Wembley is really an absolute highlight for me. My new PUMA boots feature a similar colourway to the iconic BVB colours, I think this is a good sign and hope they will help me perform well in London and bring about a great end to a phenomenal season.”
The PUMA PowerCat 1.2 is designed for players who desire power and accuracy when shooting and passing. Featuring a perfect blend of materials, this boot provides increased kicking power, whilst enabling precision through the newest PUMA technology that improves ball grip (3D PST DUO Technology). The boot delivers a bladed stud configuration for better traction, manoeuvrability and accurate pressure distribution and the external heel counter protects and stabilises the heel.
Finishing touches are the soft, premium K-Leather that enhances fit, comfort and touch and a lightweight microfiber material in the lateral quarter to support of the midfoot, which is essential to keep the weight of the boot to a minimum.
PUMA LAUNCHES NEW EVOSPEED 1.2
PUMAtoday introduces the new evoSPEED 1.2 FG, the latest performance boot that helps players maximise their speed on the pitch. For the first time ever, the boot features the PUMA brand name on the inner side of the boot instead of the formstripe – the brand’s iconic trademark. This weekend, the new black and fluorescent yellow boot makes its on pitch debut with Sergio Agüero, Radamel Falcao, Olivier Giroud and many more PUMA players.
The new evoSPEED 1.2 FG is designed to enable players reach top speed quickly without sacrificing stability or comfort. This is made possible through the use of light materials in combination with an internal midfoot support cage (EverFit cage) that maintains a good fit during all points of sprinting. The outsole is reconfigured with smaller conical studs that give the player a better grip on the ground and enhances manoeuvrability on the pitch. For optimal comfort, a minimised tongue and heel have been added, reducing pressure on the Achilles tendon whilst the sock liner distributes the foot’s pressure evenly.
Inspired by the shape of muscles, tendons and the smooth curves of a race car, the new boot features subtle black glossy graphics that round off the look of the more visible yellow prints. Finishing touches are the transparent dotted print on the vamp for better grip in wet conditions, and small details in fluorescent blue that complement the striking look.
Sergio Agüero commented after testing the finished boot, “I am always excited to wear a new boot. After the v1.11 and the first evoSPEED, this is the third SPEED boot that I have worn and it is definitely the best. PUMA’s boots are constantly improving and the innovations they create help me to perform better when I play. I appreciate the fact that they incorporate my feedback when they develop new boots and I am delighted with this latest result.”
PUMA EVOSPEED 1.2 – CAMO
PUMA certainly know how to do a limited edition boot. Having collaborated with likes of Ferrari, Ducati, Cedella Marley & released boots including the v1.10 Lightning SL and the Tokyo PowerCat, Puma unveil their latest special edition – the evoSPEED 1.2 Camo.
The next generation evoSPEED is on its way and as a teaser to the new speed boot Puma have released eye-catching colourway – inspired by the Ishihara test - a test for colour blindness!
The one-off football boots feature random sized dots in various shades of ‘sachet pink’ and ‘virtual pink’. According to PUMA, “the distinctive CAMO graphic on the boots disguise the very latest evoSPEED technology.” They will be released in strictly limited numbers and will be worn by lead evoSPEED athletes Radamel Falcao & Sergio Aguero.
Unlike some of PUMA’s previous limited edition football boots, the evoSPEED 1.2 CAMO will be trusted to deliver on pitch in the Premier League and La Liga. Sergio Aguero is scheduled to wear the boots in Manchester City’s away trip to Swansea and the club’s FA Cup final date with Wigan. La Liga hot-shot Radamel Falcao will also put the boots into action during Atletico Madrid’s upcoming fixtures with Deportivo and Barcelona.
The boot is PUMA’s second ‘CAMO’ release, following last season’s equally eccentric ‘Razzle Dazzle’ design worn by Sergio Aguero. The same boot was also used as a pre-cursor to the debut evoSPEED model. The launch of the evoSPEED 1 was a great success and the next generation boot is certainly one to look forward too.
PUMA URUGUAY 2013 CONFEDERATIONS CUP HOME KIT
Heritage Inspired Shirt Pays Tribute to 1924 La Celeste Olympic Victory
Puma today unveiled a special kit for the Uruguayan national football team, to be worn by ‘La Celeste’ during the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil this summer. The design pays tribute to the legendary Uruguayan team that triumphed at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, beating Switzerland in the final to win Gold. In this pre-World Cup era, an Olympic Gold medal was the most cherished prize in world football.
Inspired by the look of the 1924 shirt, the new Uruguay Confederations Cup shirt features a striking optical lacing on the neck that offers a unique style. Whilst maintaining the classic feel, the shirt features an enhanced moisture management through materials that provide a superior level of comfort and performance. The new kit was designed in the classic colours of the Uruguayan flag light blue and white; additional details are both the embroidered AUF crest and PUMA branding on the left side of the chest as well as on the cuffs.
The replica version of the new shirt is made from 100% recycled polyester, which is a new technical achievement and represents a further step in the Sportlifestyle brand’s sustainability strategy.
Christian Voigt, Senior Head of Global Sports Marketing at PUMA commented, “The Uruguayan national team have a rich heritage in world football, and we wanted to acknowledge this through the design of their Confederations Cup kit. An Olympic Gold medal in that era of football was a special triumph, and it is a fitting inspiration for this kit. We were very proud of Uruguay when they won the Copa America two years ago and we wish them the best of luck for the upcoming Confederations Cup in Brazil.”
In addition to the new Uruguay team kit, PUMA today launched a complementary fanwear collection that includes an adapted version of PUMA’s iconic T7 track jacket and various tees. The new Uruguay national team shirt, the fanwear and teamwear collections will be available to buy in-store from today.
PUMA ITALY 2013 CONFED CUP HOME KIT

The new kit is a bolder evolution of past shirts: fluorescent blue piping provide a fresh take on the team’s signature hue. Red and Green sleeve cuffs and white detailing pay homage to the national flag of Italy.
The shirt’s design considers heritage as well as the players’ physical qualities. The official team shirt is made of recycled polyester and Cocona (an activated carbon made from coconut shells) to provide a superior level of comfort and moisture management. The official team replica shirt is made of 100% recycled polyester.
The new kit will be available from April 1st as the official countdown to June’s competition in Brazil begins.
PUMA EVOSPEED 1, K & SL – ORANGE/OCEAN/WHITE
Puma have launched a brand new colourway for their evoSPEED boot silo with the Orange/Ocean/White colourway featuring on the SL version alongside the standard synthetic and leather editions.
The standard synthetic version the one-piece outsole provides stability and support, utilising high-tech materials to minimize weight and to maximize its flexibility and reactivity. The Puma evoSPEED 1 also features an external heel counter which secures an excellent heel fit.
The leather versions feature two grades of material. Premium ball feel and comfort on the forefoot is provided by K-Leather while a tougher more durable leather is fitted to the midfoot/heel area and is stitched at the Formstripe.
The evoSPEED SL incorporates technology from past and present such as the outsole featured on the recently released Ducati and V1 SL. Despite the technology the SL boasts, very few players have worn the SL version with most star opting for the synthetic or K-Leather versions.
The evoSPEED SL is more lightweight and has a lower profile thanks to the perforated Japanese microfibre synthetic upper which is a lot thinner compared to the standard versions. The toes feature indentations offering texture for enhanced boot-to-ball friction.
PUMA KING & KING SL – WHITE/BLACK/OCEAN
Puma’s latest incarnation of one of the games longest serving silos – the King has already proven to be a huge hit on the pitch with many Puma players switching to the new King. We won’t be surprised if even more start wearing the new King after Puma unveiled this fresh White/Black/Ocean colourway.
The new King is all about control and Puma have redesigned the classic boots to enable the wearer to rule the pitch. The lightweight boots feature performance-driven touchCELL properties to help enhance your touch on the ball.
The soft, premium leather upper helps boost your feel for the ball so you can drive it right where it needs to go. The lightweight Pebax outsole with a mix of conical and traction studs ensures the perfect balance between flexibility, grip and manoeuvrability. It also reduces weight while the external heel counter helps increase protection and stability in the heel.
Along with the King, Puma released an even lighter (171g) version – the King SL. The upper is constructed using a Japanese premium microfibre material with leather like properties. The central lacing combines with a new performance tongue. The short, perforated 3D tongue ensures a closer touch and perfect fit.
PUMA POWERCAT 1.12 – WHITE/ORANGE/OCEAN
The arrival of the new King has seen Puma’s PowerCat 1.12 silo suffer a few losses as the likes of Michael Carrick and Nemaja Vidic have moved from their Power boot into the heritage silo. However with the release a new colourway, the PowerCat is looking to grab some attention once again.
The PowerCat 1.12’s standout feature is the innovative 3D DUO Power Shooting Technology situated towards the front of the soft K-Leather upper . Thermoplastic material with two different degrees of hardness has both high responsive and extremely high rebound properties.
A lightweight microfiber material in the lateral quarter supports the midfoot while the PUMA PowerLast follows the foot’s natural contours, providing a glove like fit allowing the upper to mould to players fit. Coupled with the stable yet flexible outsole, the PowerCat 1.12 gives the best possible comfort. Optimal support, stability and protection are provided by the asymmetrical external TPU-injected heel counter.
Puma’s latest White/Orange/Ocean colourway is a classy combination and will also feature on the SL version. The PowerCat SL still features a lot of original technology such as the 3D DUO Power Shooting Technology. A redesigned perforated tongue and a softer, lighter leather help bring the weight down while the original TPU injected stud configuration is replaced by a Pebax injected stud configuration to reduce weight.
PUMA KING – BLACK/BLACK/SILVER
