BOOT SPOTTING 31 MARCH – 1 APRIL
The Premier League is arguably the best league in the world. Every weekend we are treated with moments of brilliance, controversy and shock as well some excellent boot spots. It’s Monday and that means we are here to give you your weekly dose of boot spots from the Premier League.
We are still getting used to all the new Nike colourways which made their debut last weekend. Last week we noticed a host of players wearing the new Soar/Black/Silver T90 K-Laser colourway. This week we were surprised to see CTR360 wearer Wojciech Szczesny in the new colourway. The Arsenal stopper became a CTR360 a few months ago but seems to have moved into the T90 range.

Another player making a surprise switch this weekend was Swansea’s Joe Allen. Allen has been an Adidas AdiPower wearer but took to the field in CTR360 Maestri II boots against Spurs on Sunday. Allen has become known as a pass master so it is little surprise to see that it was CTRs that he chose to switch into seeing as they are believed by many to be the best midfield boot on the market.

There was also a surprise boot switch at the City of Manchester stadium where Sunderland’s James McClean went from Adidas’ AdiZero to Nike’s new Vapor VIII. McClean had previously worn a bespoke pair of AdiZero MiCoach boots but looks to have found a new favourite boot in the Vapor VIII.

Robert Huth joined this weekend’s new boot group when he opted to switch from his CTR360 boots for a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend IV boots. Huth is yet another defender to now wear the Tiempo – a trend Nike themselves have pushed.

Fulham played during the week which meant we couldn’t feature Clint Dempsey in our last boot spot article. Dempsey is one of the highest profile Mercurial wearers in the Premier League and was on the scoresheet for Fulham in only his second game in the new Vapor VIII.

Luka Modric opted to stick with his Superfly III boots last weekend but was in the new Vapor VIII midweek for Spurs’ FA Cup tie against Bolton. This weekend Croatian was once again in the new Vapor VIII to help his side return to form with a 3-1 win over Swansea which moved them level with Arsenal in third.

Aaron Lennon came off the bench for Spurs and helped set up their third goal with a pin-point cross thanks to his Vapor VIII boots. It was Lennon’s first appearance for 4 weeks after being ruled out through injury.

The new Vapor VIII has had a brilliant start to its career having already found the back of the net through the likes of Walcott and Dempsey. Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor is another player to have impressed in the new Mango/Grey colouryway with no one wearing the Sail/Red colourway as yet.

Adel Taarabt has been in Tiempo Legend IV Elite boots since their launch but may find himself attached to the new White/Green colourway as he scored his first goal of the season in them to help his side past Arsenal.

Seems like a long time since Puma updated the King Finale with a new colourway. Leon Osman seems happy with his White/Black/Team Orange colourway boots however. Osman was involved in Everton’s opening goal and has been one of David Moyes’ most important players this season wearing Puma King Finale boots – with the fold over tongue cut-off.

It wasn’t a great weekend for Liverpool as they went down 2-0 to Newcastle United and had Pepe Reina sent off. The Liverpool number one saw red after being involved in an altercation with Newcastle defender James Perch. Reina wears Joma football boots and had a bespoke Red/Green/White colourway for awhile before switching to the White/Red Total Fit colourway.

CASTROL EDGE: CARROLL RETURNS TO ST JAMES’

This weekend will see Liverpool striker Andy Carroll return to St James’ Park on Sunday as The Reds face play Newcastle United in the Premier League. Castrol EDGE Performance data shows that the £35 million striker has scored only five league goals in 35 appearances for Liverpool and consequently his chance conversion rate has slumped to a meagre 8.1%.
However, despite receiving heavy criticism, Carroll has contributed more to Liverpool than might be expected. For instance, his shooting accuracy has improved from 40.5% at Newcastle to 41.9% and his heading accuracy has gone up from 34.2% to 38.5%. Interestingly, he is now creating a chance for Liverpool every 55.9 minutes, compared with a chance every 79.2 minutes whilst at Newcastle.
Andy Carroll in the Premier League for Liverpool and Newcastle

It does seem that Carroll has begun to win over the fans at Anfield and a big performance against his former club will certainly help endure him further to the Reds’ faithful. Carroll however has said that he won’t celebrate if he does find the back of the net. Speaking to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. Carroll said; “If I scored on Sunday then I wouldn’t celebrate,”
“I hope I get a good reception from the fans, they’ll be getting one from me. I thought I did well for the club when I was there and loved it.
“I have some great memories from playing there. I have always had a good relationship with the Newcastle fans and it stems back to playing for them.”
BOOT SPOTTING 24-25 MARCH
It was another weekend of great Premier League action and with Nike launching a host of new colourways there was no shortage of boots spots either. Despite new Nike boots dominating the weekends boots spots there were still a host of other great boots spot from the weekend. Check out our bumper boot spot article from this weekend.
It was no surprise to the new Mercurial Vapor VIII catching the eye in its new Mango/Grey colourway. There was a host of player we expected to see in the new Vapor however William Gallas was no one of them. Gallas did however switch back into his faithful Orion Blue/Metallic Silver/Dark Obsidian Superfly I boots in the second half.

Theo Walcott was pictured receiving his new Vapor VIII boots during the week. The Arsenal winger has been in superb form of late and carried that good form on this weekend when he scored his first goal in the new Vapor VIII boots to help Arsenal past Aston Villa.

Ryo Miyaichi has proven his quality since joining Bolton. Arsenal boss ArseneWenger must be very pleased that he has another young future Gunner impressing in the Premier League. Miyaichi added a little bit of personalization to his Mango/Grey colourway boots by adding black laces.

The new White/Green/Silver Timepo Legend IV colourway isn’t groundbreaking but suits the classy, understated heritage of the Tiempo range. A few players showed off the new colourway this weekend such as Wolves’ Matt Jarvis who scored in the new colourway but couldn’t help his side avoid another defeat.

Another Nike colourway to make its debut this weekend was the new Black/White/Orange CTR360 Maestri II colourway –a colourway we really like here at TRW. Sunderland’s Craig Gardner was one of the players showing off the new colourway this weekend.

We were a little surprised to see how popular the new Soar/Black/Silver T90 K-Laser colourway was. It was widely thought that Fernando Torres was a perfect fit for this colourway however Torres didn’t wear them when he came off the bench against Spurs. Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker however was in the new colourway.

Wolves striker Steven Fletcher has had his a brilliant season so far mostly wearing Nike T90 Laser IV boots. He was another player who switched to the new Soar/Black/Silver colourway for their game against Norwich.

Papiss Cisse has proven to be a great signing for Newcastle since his arrival in the January transfer market. Cisse popped up with 2 goals for the Magpies to move them level with Chelsea after victory over West Brom. We thought the launch White/Orange/Black T90 Laser IV colourway would have looked great with his Newcastle away kit but Cisse opted for the new Soar/Black/Silver instead.

Although the new boots were grabbing a lot of attention arguably the most eye-catching moment of the weekend was Peter Crouch’s wonder goal against Manchester City. The lanky striker scored with an incredible volley to give Stoke the lead wearing Puma’s Blue/Black/White/Orange PowerCat 1.12 boots.

For a few weeks now we have been watching Frank Lampard to see when he will play his first game in the new Adidas AdiPure 11Pro boots. Lampard has worn them in pre game warm-up but that was the closest he came until this weekend. Whether he switched back to the AdiPure IV or not we will have to see but wearing for the whole game was a good sign.

We love a good boot/kit match up here at TRW and we have been wondering if Adidas’ Slime/Navy colourway would match any kit and Gary Caldwell we know it does – Wigan’s away kit. Wigan earned a shock 2-1 win over Liverpool to help them in their relegation battle, with the winner being struck by Caldwell.

Adidas’ MiCoach AdiZero boots have featured some eccentric colourways with only the White/Energy/Black colourway not threating to burn your retina. This colourway was launched with no on-field support – which means that Swansea’s Wayne Routledge probably went got himself a pair specially. Another great example of boot perfectly matching a kit.

BOOT SPOTTING 20-21 MARCH
There were 5 Premier League games midweek – some of which could have a major impact on how the log looks at the end of the season. We have a quick look at some of the boots on display midweek ahead of another weekend of action – which also features some crucial matches.
We had made mention a few times on our Facebook page that Carlos Tevez was a short while away from a return to action and the ex-West Ham and Manchester United striker did make his first appearance for City in 6 months. Tevez came off the bench wearing Blue Sapphire/White/Black CTR360 Maestri I boots, despite warming up in the current Blue/White/Blue CTR360 Maestr II colourway.

We have seen a few Adidas AdiPure IV wearers not switching to the new 11Pro but now we are starting to see a few AdiPower Predator wearers switching to the new AdiPure. Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is one of a few players who have opted to switch out of the AdIPower into the AdiPure. Perhaps this is because the AdiPure 11Pro is closer to the AdiPower than the new upcoming Predator.

Another player to have switched out of AdiPower Predators is Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates – who scored a ripper against QPR! It is a surprise that Coates has left club sponsor Adidas and is now wearing Nike Timpo Legend IV boots. He may feel it was a good choice if he scores any more goals like he did against QPR.

Sotirios Kyrgiakos scored a few goals for Liverpool himself. The Greek defender now plays for Sunderland however and was part of their midweek defeat to Blackburn Rovers. Kyrgiakos has gotten good life out of his Summit White/Black/Metallic Silver Y90 Laser III boots which he wore while at Liveprool.

Kyle Walker has quickly grown to become a major part of Umbro’s football strategy with the Spurs fullback used extensively in the England jersey PR and wearing their GT Pro II. Interestingly Walker went back to the launch Blue Radiance/Black/Orange Popsicle colourway having worn the current Silver/Black/Red colourway for a few weeks.

CASTROL EDGE: MANCHESTER CITY V CHELSEA

Tonight sees Manchester City host Chelsea in a game that could decide the fate of the two teams. City are looking to close the gap to United at the top of the table to 1 point. Chelsea on the other hand need a victory to keep their chances of finish 4th alive. Carlos Tevez is expected to return for Manchester City after the striker apologised to the club for his behaviour this season.
Castrol EDGE Performance data shows that Tevez was extremely important for City before he left the club without leave. Since the start of last season, he has scored 20 goals in 34 appearances at a chance conversion rate of 21.98%. With this in mind, Mancini will be hoping that he can breathe new life into City’s title campaign, and it is interesting that the Argentine has a particularly impressive record against Chelsea – scoring six league goals in six appearances against the Blues.

David Silva v Juan Mata: friends go head-to-head at the Etihad
David Silva and Juan Mata go head to head tonight when Manchester City take on Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. The Spaniards have spoken of their close friendship, and Castrol EDGE Performance data shows that they are very closely matched on the pitch as well.
Both have scored five league goals this season, nearly all of which have come from their favoured left feet. They also have the same chance conversion rates (11%), although Silva’s shooting accuracy (54%) is marginally better than Mata’s (45%).
In terms of overall attacking play, Silva and Mata are crucial to their teams’ chances of success. Both are comfortable running with the ball and they also have similarly impressive pass completion rates (DS = 88%, JM = 87%). This has resulted in a notable number of assists; whilst Silva (12) has two more than Mata (10), Mata’s record is particularly impressive given the poor form of Chelsea’s strikers this season.

BOOT SPOTTING 17-18 MARCH
This weekend saw both Premier League and FA Cup action taking place. The advantage for us football fans is that we get to watch Premier League games throughout the week as teams play their games in hand. Here some of the boots on show from the weekend.
There has been a lot of debate about the new Adidas AdiPure 11Pro with a number of players sticking with the AdiPure IV. Everton’s Seamus Coleman has stuck with a pair of Black/Zero Metallic/Blue AdIpure IV boots which match his Everton kit.

Wigan’s Emmerson Boyce (left) is another player who matched the Black/Zero Metallic/Blue AdIpure IV colourway with his kit but has switched to the 11Pro in the past few weeks.

Stoke City’s Glenn Whelan has been an avid AdiPro wearer. Whelen frequently wore the Scarlet/White/Black colourway to match his home Stoke Adidas kit. He often matched the Black-out colourway to his away kit however. We wonder if he will change from the Black/Slime 11Pro colourway into White/Energy for Stoke’s next home game.

While on the theme of kits and boots matching – Swansea City’s away strip is a perfect match for Adidas Black/Warning AdiZero MiCoach boots. We have featured Wayne Routledge (left) before and this week it’s Gylfi Sigurdsson’s turn. The Icelandic midfielder joined the club on loan from 1899 Hoffenheim and has struck 5 goals in 9 games.

The Da Silva twins have always been tricky to tell apart. This is not helped by the fact that they both wear Nike T90 Laser IV boots. His weekend however they made it a little easier by wearing different colourways. Rafael (21), who has made more than double the number of appearances for the club, wore the launch White/Orange/Black colourway. Fabio (20)on the other hand wore the current Grey/Red/Black.

We are huge fans of Adidas’ Phantom/Electricity/Energy AdiZero MiCoach colourway. Only Liverpool’s Stewart Downing and Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou were asked by Adidas to wear the colourway in the Premier League however.

As with the rest of the footballing world our thoughts are with Fabrice Muamba and his family. The Nike Tiempo Legend IV wearing Bolton midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during the FA Cup clash with Tottenham on Saturday and is still at The London Chest Hospital in critical condition.

BOOT SPOTTING 10-11 MARCH
What better way to start your week than with a dose of TRW’s famous boot spots. The biggest news of the weekend was Manchester United moving ahead of City as the Premier League table had a new leader for the first time in five months. Here are some of the boot that featured on English pitched this weekend.
Phil Jones featured in midfield and central defence for United midweek and showed his versatility by starting at right back this weekend wearing Puma’s new Blue/White/Orange PowerCat 1.12 colourway.

Nigel De Jong showed off his new PowerCat boots ahead of City’s Europa League game on Thursday. The Manchester City star posted an image on Twitter of his new boots which feature the soleplate from the Puma King – the boots De Jong wore before switching to the PowerCat 1.12.

Chelsea help keep their top 4 chances alive when they earned a hard fought 1-0 win over Stoke City. Chelsea’s Brazilain midfielder Ramires has been in Nike CTR360 since joining the club but looks to have joined fellow midfielder Raul Meireles in Tiempo Legend IV boots.

Chelsea will be sure to thank another Tiempo Legend IV wearer Nikica Jelavic who’s first goal for Everton condemned Tottenham Hotspur to a third defeat and enabled Chelsea (and Arsenal) to close the gap on their fellow London club.

Louis Saha came off the bench to face his old club wearing Adidas’ newest Slime/Navy AdiPower Predator colourway. Saha has impressed since joining Spurs from Everton on a short term loan scoring 3 in 5 appearances but wasn’t able to help Spurs avoid defeat.

Adidas have released all their colourways for AdiPower so the only time we will see an new colourway is if a player gets a bespoke pair made. We have seen a few in the Premier League such as ex-Real Madrid star Mahamadou Diarra who has a habit of getting Predator made in the colours of his native Mali.

Junior Hoilett hit a brace against Wolves to help Blackburn Rovers in their fight to avoid relegation. His two goals in Blue/Energy AdiZero boots add to an already impressive tally of over 110 that the boots have notched up in the Premier League alone this season.

There are still a few players who have stuck to second generation AdiZero boots. Bolton’s Ivan Klasnic stuck the winner for the Trotter in the Anodized Purple/Electricity colourway which was released 10 months ago.

Another player preferring the older AdiZero is Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa. The Electricity/Purple colourway was released at the same time as the Anodized Purple/Electricity colourway and was a huge hit with fans and pros.

Most of the time managers and their support staff wear boots or trainers made by their team’s kit suppliers. With Adidas not renewing their contract with Liverpool it will be interesting to see what boots Kenny Dalglish and Steve Clarke wear next season. Perhaps they will stick with their Adidas Copa Mundial boots.

There were also some great looking boots on show in France this weekend as England travelled across for their 6 Nations rugby game. A few French players, including Clement Poitrenaud and Aurelien Rougerie, wore kit matching bespoke Blue/Red Nike Tiempo Legend IV boots.

BOOT SPOTTING 3-4 MARCH
We start this week with arguably the biggest boot spot of the weekend. Jordan Henderson was used by Umbro to launch their Geometra Pro boots and has been one of their marquee players since. This weekend however Henderson wore Nike’s control boot, the CTR360, when Liverpool played Arsenal. Whether or not this is a permanent move we are not sure but it would be a big surprise as it would be a major blow for Umbro – who are owned by Nike.

We finally seem to have a player who frequently wears Puma’s SL version of their V range. Blackburn Rovers’ Marcus Olsson has been in the SL for his handful of appearances having joined his twin brother. Olsson is currently in the Blue/White/Lime Puma V1.11 SL colourway.

Pavel Pogrebnyak has proven to be a great capture by Fulham as the tall Russian forward has now scored five goals in his first three Barclays Premier League matches after a hat-trick against Wolves this weekend. Pogrebnyak is one of many players impressing in Adidas’ Blue/Energy AdiZero colourway.

Nike are set to launch their new Mercurial Vapor in the next few days but a few of the current Superfly’s older colourways were on display this weekend. Yossi Benayoun has stuck with the Granite/Purple/White/Red despite the current Purple/Silver colourway being a great match with Arsenal’s away kit.

Another player wearing an older colourway is ex-Arsenal striker Niklas Bendtner. Bendtner has always enjoyed flashy boot colourways and seems to have a new favourite after switching back to the eye-catching Volt/Purple/Retro colourway from the Purple/Silver.

It seemed a few players were switching back to old favourites this weekend. Jon Walters has been featured here numerous times wearing Puma v-Konstruckt boots but has been in Nike Tiempo Legend boots. Walters was back in his Silver/White/Red Puma’s this weekend however.

Earlier in the season it looked as though Joey Barton was a Puma boot wearer after the QPR midfielder wore the pre-release white-out PowerCat 1.12 boots. Recently however it seems he is an Adidas man after changing to AdiPower Predator boots. He is even in the newest Slime/Navy colourway.

We have previously seen Swansea’s Danny Graham in Umbro’s Speciali III boots. This weekend however Graham went back to his Speciali II boots. We wonder if the Pros are not so keen on the new III as the likes of Terry and Carroll still haven’t switched over and now Graham has reverted.

Gael Clichy has remained in Umbro Stealth Pro II boots despite a host of new boots such as the Geometra Pro -the Stealth II’s replacement. He has now changed into a new boot however as he was spotted in GT I Pro boots this weekend. Although the GTs have a newer colourway available we must admit the Blue Radiance/Black/Orange Popsicle looks great with his Umbro Manchester City kit.

We have been a few weeks now for the AdiPure 11Pro to really have an impact on the Premier League. At TRW we think the 11Pro has a shot at ‘Boot of the Year’ but they need a greater on-field presence. Some star names are still to switch to the new AdiPure but Spurs’ veteran defender Ledley King has made the change. King’s fitness has been pretty good this season and the big centre back has made a decent number of appearances this season which could see him earn another years contract.

BOOT SPOTTING 25-26 FEBRUARY
Ryan Giggs played his 900th game for Manchester United this weekend and it was the Welsh veteran who popped up with an injury time winner to keep the champions in touch with City. Giggs has been wearing a leather Reebok boot, that are not available in store. We have seen both a White/Red and White/Blue colourway of the boot which we believe to be custom colourways of his limited edition RG800 boots. This weekend however Giggs celebrated his 900th appearance with a White/Gold pair.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto seems intent on wearing two different colourways. The Spurs fullback wore an AdiPower Predator and an AdiZero before wearing two Black/Warning AdiZeros. This weekend however he was back in different boots as he combined his right Black/Warning AdiZero with a Blue/Core Energy AdiZero.

Spur’s trip to the Emirates was the game of the weekend with the Gunners recording a morale boosting victory over their North London rivals. Arsenal’s young fullback Carl Jenkins returned from injury wearing a pair of White/Red AdiZero RS7 boots which are the rugby specific version of Adidas’ successful AdiZero silo.

The Blue/Core Energy colourway has been a big hit in the Premier League since their release with most AdiZero wearers changing into the colourway – including Sunderland’s Frazier Campbell. Campbell, despite only just returning from a lengthy injury layoff has impressed Stuart Peirce and finds himself in the England squad to play Holland this week.

Adidas’ Slime/Navy AdiPower colourway is the last new colourway we will see on pitches before the new Predator is released. It already seems to be a big hit with the players with the likes of Nani, van Persie and Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko all changing into the new colourway.

We have waited a long time to see one of Umbro’s major players to switch into the new Speciali 3 and it seems Darren Bent is the first. The likes of Terry and Carroll remain in Speciai R boots while Bent has traded his custom Yellow/Purple colourway in for the new Speciali 3.

Bobby Zamora has been in a Silver/Gold pair of unreleased Under Armour boots for a few months but this weekend popped up in a White/Black/Red pair which will be the launch colourway of Under Armour’s Hydrastrike II boots.

Stoke City’s Marc Wilson looks to have ditched Lotto after being spotted in Nike CTR360 boots this weekend. The former Portsmouth defender previously wore Lotto’s Zhero Evolution boots but looks to have switched to CTRs like fellow ex-Lotto wearer Glen Johnson did.

Our final Premier League boots spot comes from the sideline where new Wolves boss Terry Connor took charge for the first time since the sacking of Mick McCarthy. Connor didn’t get off to a bad start after his side earned a point against high flying Newcastle. Connor gave the orders from the sideline in a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend III boots.

While the Premier League continued, Liverpool were winning silverware as they beat Cardiff in the Carling Cup. Stuart Downing is one of a handful of players who have been given Adidas’ alternate Black/Electricity colourway (a colourway we are big fans of here at TRW)to wear instead of the Blue/Core Energy colourway.

BOOT SPOTTING 11-12 FEBRUARY
Monday has rolled around once more and that means another bunch of fresh boot spots from the Premier League.
The weekend’s headlines have been dominated by the firey Manchester United v Liverpool game with Luis Saurez seemingly heaping more controversy onto his already long list of misconduct. The Uruguayan did find the back of the net however – interestingly in an older pair of Blue/Slime AdiZero II boots.

Another big game this weekend was Newcastle’s trip to White Heart Lane. In the end Spurs ran out easy 5-0 winners with the goal fest started by Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Spurs left-back has been wearing mismatched boots over the past few weeks. First Benoit had different AdiPower colourways on each foot and then wore an AdIpower on his left and an AdiZero MiCoach on his right. This weekend however Benoit had Black/Warning AdiZero boots on both feet.

Harry Redknapp has a knack of getting the best out of players many have thought are past their best. He looks to have done it again with Louis Saha after the ex-Fulham, Manchester United and Everton man grabbed a brace in his first start for Spurs. Saha looked sharp on the field as did his White/Blue/Warning AdIpower Predator boots – a TRW favourite.

After spotting Frank Lampard in the new White/High Energy AdiPure 11Pro during the warm up we expected to see the Chelsea star wearing them against Everton. Lampard (right) however opted to stick with his AdiPure IV boots instead making it yet another week that one of Adidas’ main AdiPure wearers has delayed switching.

There are a host of player who have stuck with the AdiZero II and not gone into MiCoach AdiZero boots. One colourway which was immensely popular when they were launched and still proving popular is the White/Cyan/Pink colourway the likes of Liverpool’s Daniel Agger and QPR’s Fitz Hall have been wearing the past few weeks.

Adidas’ AdiZero football boots are way out in front of the Premier League’s top scoring boot table. Fulham’s Pavel Pogrebnyak had a dream start to his Premier League career. The tall Russian scored on debut in the Energy/Warning AdiZero MiCoach launch colourway to help Fulham defeat Stoke City and add to AdiZero’s goal tally.

Peter Odemwingie scored a hat-trick for West Bromwich Albion as The Baggies struck 5 to beat Wolves 5-1 to move them up into 14th ahead of Aston Villa while leaving Wolves in the relegation zone. Odemwingie opted for the Granite/Purple/White/Red colourway have previously worn the latest Purple/Silver colourway.

Joe Hart has quickly become one of Umbro’s main men. The Manchester City number 1 has established himself as England’s number – both of whom are sponsored by Umbro. Hart’s kit and equipment currently match perfectly with his Black/Green Gemotra Pro boots and Black/Green Geometra Pro Touch gloves perfectly matching his green Man City kit.

Arsenal’s promising young winger Ryo Miyaichi made his Premier League and Bolton debut when he came off the bench against Wigan. The 19 year old Japanese star has scored in a behind closed doors friendly for Bolton but couldn’t repeat that feat over the weekend when he came on at half time in Purple/Silver Nike Superfly III boots.

Miyaichi’s parent club was busy moving ahead of Chelsea into forth as they earned a hard fought win over Sunderland. Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie struck a hat-trick last weekend in Black/Warning AdiPower Predators but gave the new Slime/Navy/White colourway their debut this weekend.

Our final boot spot is partly a farewell as we say goodbye to Thierry Henry. The New York Red Bull striker played his last Premier League game this weekend off the bench – and as his fairytale return to Arsenal would have expected – scored the Gunners’ winner. Henry was the first to wear Puma’s King SL boots in the Premier League and has since been joined by Arsenal teammate Mikel Arteta.
