NEW POWERCAT 1.10 & KING FINALE COLOURWAYS
Puma are certainly on the move at the moment. Along with the announcement of some new big name signings Puma have released new colourways for their PowerCat 1.10 and King Finale football boots.
The new PowerCat 1.10 colourway will certainly stand out on the pitch. A few months ago Puma released a Black/Red/Silver colourway for their power boot and have now released a pair with the same combination – this time however Red is the stand out colour. Out first thought is; ‘Who would wear this colourway?’ and it seems there will be a host of players who could easily match these Red/Black/Silver boots to their kit. The most obvious being Manchester United pair Vidic and Carrick but they will look equally good with Sagna and Rosicky’s Arsenal kit. Also, having left Spurs, Peter Crouch can match them to his Stoke City colours.

Football’s longest serving boot silo the King also gets a new colourway but it is, as would be expected for such a classy boot, a little less flashy. In fact the Black/Black/Gold has no flash what so ever but who needs bright colour when you are as classy as the King Finale? We are sure this colourway will be a huge hit with heritage boot fans and would complete a great looking set if paired with Adidas’ Black/Black/Gold AdiPure IV boots.

PUMA POWERCAT 1.10 ELECTRO
Puma have released a host of new colourways but the one that has grabbed the most attention are these PowerCat 1.10 ‘Electro’ boots:

Much like the popular ‘Tokyo’ boots, the new Electros feature a soft, lightweight premium microfiber upper rather than a traditional leather upper. The Electro’s Blue/White/Dandelion colourway is already a striking colour combination and this is added to by the circuit board, electrical detailing and a mixture of circular patterns all of which make this one of Puma’s most outrageous colourways to date.

The Electro features all the same technology as previous PowerCat models lead by Puma’s revolutionary 3D Power Shooting Technology (Puma 3D PST) located in kicking area.

We are huge fans of the Tokyo here at TRW and would certainly put the new Electro in the same category. We look foreword to seeing this exciting colourway on the field next season.

Along with the eye-catching Electro colourway Puma have also released a more traditional Black/Orange colourway. We were immediately reminded of the popular ‘Tricks’ colourway Puma launched for the World Cup last year and we expect these to be a popular colourway amongst fans and players as well.

PUMA POWERCAT 1.10 WHITE/BLACK/ORANGE
Puma have unveiled the new V1.11 and V1.11 SL but along with their new speed boots Puma have given their popular power boot a new colourway as well.

The PowerCat 1.10 Boot uses PUMA 3D Power Shooting Technology which delivers unique rebound properties. The Springtech foam in the shark-like gills on the side of the boot are engineered to enhance every shot by putting extra power behind the ball as it catapults off the shoe. This means the boot intentionally does not absorb the typical amount of energy upon impact with the ball, allowing more power to be released with every shot.
The kicking area is made of soft, thin leather and a synthetic microfiber around the quarter area, keeping the boot lightweight and easy to perform in. The bladed studs are configured to ensure smooth ground penetration and pressure distribution as well as maximum traction and maneuverability.
Unfortunately this new White/Black/Orange colourway will not be available in South Africa.
PUMA POWERCAT 1.10 – WHITE/BLACK/SNORKEL BLUE
Along with the release of the new V1.10 and SL colourway Puma have released this classy looking White/Black/Snorkel Blue PowerCat 1.10 colourway.

The PowerCat 1.10 is a combination of engineering and comfort. The injected PUMA 3D Power Shooting Technology (PUMA 3D PST) is designed to increase shooting power, while maintaining ball touch and feel, the 3D PST achieves increased shot power through it’s extremely high rebound properties, absorbing more than the typical amount of energy upon ball impact and releasing more power with every shot. The PUMA PowerLast and the stable yet flexible outsole create a snug and comfortable fit whilst the dual density external heel counter provides protection against outer forces. The super soft kangaroo leather provides excellent ball control and feel as well great comfort for the wearer. The PowerCat 1.10 has become a hit with pros like Vidic, Chiellini, Carrick, Buffon, Crouch, Rosicky and Sagna.
PUMA POWERCAT 1.10 TOKYO – WHITE/TEAM CHARCOAL/FLUORESCENT GREEN

We have come to expect Puma to release outrageous colourways but they may have out done themselves with the release of these White/Team Charcoal/Fluorescent Green PowerCat 1.10 boots. Known as the ‘PowerCat Tokyo’, this new colourway is inspired by the dazzling lights, vibrancy and highly visual culture of the neon jungles in Tokyo’s electric Akihabara district. The boots feature Kanji lettering and are the first pair of Puma PowerCat boots to have been made out of Synthetic materials rather than leather – as has been standard on the PowerCat.

Puma PowerCat 1.10 Tokyo – White/Team Charcoal/Fluorescent Green boots are the perfect combination of engineering and comfort in a striking design. The injected PUMA 3D Power Shooting Technology (PUMA 3D PST), the fresh Cat branding and the super soft and thin premium microfiber make the PowerCat 1.10 Tokyo the boot of choice for true football players who want stand out on the pitch. The PUMA PowerLast and the stable yet flexible outsole create a snug and comfortable fit whilst the dual density external heelcounter provides protection against outer forces.
These may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we at TRW can’t wait for their release. You can expect to see the new Puma PowercAt 1.10 Tokyo boots in stores in early April.
EXCLUSIVE: NEW PUMA POWERCAT 1.10 WHITE/BLACK/TEAM ORANGE COLOURWAY
Last week we exclusively revealed the new Puma V1.10 Parachute Purple/Ebony/Tender Shoots colourway. Now The Right Winger brings you another exclusive Puma colourway: the new Puma PowerCat 1.10 White/Black/Team Orange.

You may remember that we ran a boot spot article on the new Fifa 11 game and we spotted an interesting pair of boots on Peter Crouch. Well, we can reveal that they are indeed this great looking colourway from Puma. The PowerCat is a boot that we are very fond of here at TRW and we think that this new colourway is brilliant.

The PowerCat is worn by the likes of Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic and Shay Given and features a soft leather upper with the PUMA 3D Power Shooting Technology which enables you to generate more power thanks to its unique rebound properties.

We really like this new colourway and look forward to seeing them in action in the Premier League.
Unfortunately this colourway will not be available in South Africa.
HAT-TRICK FOR PUMA IN 2010 RED DOT DESIGN AWARDS
PUMA has once again demonstrated its place as a market leader in product design after being awarded the “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2010” for three of its football products. The PowerCat 1.10 football, PowerCat 1.10 iFG football boot and Italy home shirt all impressed the panel of expert international judges who made the decision after receiving more than 4,252 entries from 57 nations in the product design category.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the largest and most renowned design competitions worldwide and is an internationally recognised quality label for excellent design. The jury rated PUMA’s PowerCat 1.10 products against a number of key criteria including design quality, degree of innovation, longevity and ecological compatibility.
“These products are designed to help players compete for honours on the pitch, so it’s great that they’ve been recognised for excellence off it too,” said Filip Trulsson, Senior Manager, International Teamsport Business Unit at PUMA. “This is a great acclaim to the superb efforts across design, development and product line management, and we’re delighted.”
The PowerCat collection was introduced in February 2010, ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. This year, when the world sets its sights on South Africa, PUMA will have enjoyed more than a decade of close partnership and collaboration with African football federations, currently being the official supplier of no less than twelve African National Teams, including Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Algeria and Ghana – all of which are participating in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

PowerCat 1.10 Ball

The PowerCat 1.10 Ball is the latest innovation from PUMA‘s award winning design and development Equipment team. The ball has been in testing for the past six months with Sheffield University, as well as three select top division teams in Europe. The ball excels in flight characteristics, shape and anti-absorption properties, as well as the all-important ‘touch and feel’ experience.
The Italy Home Shirt

Staying true to tradition, the colors of the home kit is Italy’s classic azzure blue with white details. The shirt features a unique body fit and ‘battle skin’ graphic, designed only for the Italy team to wear during the World Cup.
The unique star-shaped collar on the shirt pays homage to Italy’s four World Cup titles as do the four stars on the official FIGC logo on the left chest. A leaping PUMA Cat logo on the right chest is prominently displayed. The design of the jersey reflects PUMA’s sportlifestyle positioning and the dynamic and modern character of the Azzuri. The new Italy kit puts emphasis on courage, engineered performance features and a distinct articulation of raw football power.
The POWER technology in each jersey was constructed using 3D Motion Analysis, a scientific technique that captures and quantifies human movement. This movement data is incorporated into the design of the jersey to ensure each player uses minimal force and energy with every upper body movement. The jersey also uses an engineered mesh, or ‘battle skin’, that enhances breathability, giving players more comfort and freedom of movement. The collar and arms feature power cutlines, giving the jersey a striking look emphasizing the strength of the chest and arms.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design was presented to PUMA at a ceremony in Essen, Germany on March 2nd, 2010. All winners of the award can use the Red Dot logo on packaging and marketing materials. The award-winning products are put on display before an international public in the Red Dot design museum on the premises of the ‘Zeche Zollverein’ World Cultural Heritage Site in Essen, Germany.
