ADIDAS PREDATOR LETHAL ZONES: SWEET SPOT

Adidas’ unique tease campaign for the upcoming Predator LZ continues to gain momentum as they release the third of the ‘Lethal Zone’ teases. This week Adidas ask ‘Who is sweet spot?’

He can curve a bullet. He’s always bull’s eye. In the back of the net, his secret you’ll find. A sniper and two more make the lethal five.

The larger surface area on the medial side of the boot generates greater spin and pace when striking the ball. The base is connected with raised 3-D ribs to create an enhanced contact time on the ball.
ADIDAS PREDATOR LETHAL ZONES: DRIVE

He’s got a reputation. He has ruined a few. Drive is a sledgehammer. With power and skill. Drive the coach mad. Drive the crowd wild. And three to come still.
Adidas have released the second Lethal Zone teaser in their unique build to the unveiling of the Predator LZ on May 5th. After showcasing the ‘First Touch’, Adidas now turn our attention to the ‘Drive’ zone. The Predator element swoops from the inside of the laces to the toe and is highlighted in Orange to stand out from the otherwise all white upper.

The raised and thicker 3-D shape on the forefoot follows the natural shape of the instep and creates a rebound effect for greater distance.

We have already had a glimpse of this Lethal Zone on the field as Manchester City’s Samir Nasri wore this week’s LZ tease boots over the weekend.

CHELSEA ADIDAS 2012/13 HOME KIT
New Chelsea Football Club Kit trimmed with Gold for 2012

With the 2012 season drawing to a close Chelsea FC are already looking forward to next season as Chelsea and adidas today unveiled the new home shirt for the 2012/13 football season. The strip carries a gold theme, reflective of the year of sport and celebration in the capital in 2012.

Design
The new ChelseaFC home kit sees the adidas, Samsung and club crest all turned completely gold. This theme is reflected in the iconic three stripes across the shoulders and the ‘CFC’ motif seen on the rear of the neck. Subtle dark blue stripes also feature through the front of the shirt. The look is finished off with gold piping around the arms and neck. This design detail is repeated through the shorts and socks both of which feature golden three-stripes on Chelsea’s famous blue.

Technology
The 2012/13 shirt again features the adidas Techfit™ technology in the playing shirt which is proven to enhance performance.
TechFit™ – The players’ kit will incorporate adidas’ cutting edge TechFit™ technology to help improve speed, increased endurance capabilities and enhanced awareness. This works by stabilising and focusing the muscles’ energy to generate explosive acceleration and deliver maximum power output.
Climacool™ -The shirts also feature adidas ClimaCool™ technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.
The new home kit will be available to buy May 10th 2012but can be pre-ordered online at www.chelseafc.com/megastore
NEW ADIDAS ADIZERO MICOACH COLOURWAYS
Adidas are set to unveil two new colourways for their hugely successful AdiZero – Prime Blue/Electricity/Silver and Phantom/Warning/Silver.
The two new colourways are stand alone colourways and will receive no on-field support. We think this is a real pity as both are great looking colourways. With the Euros not far away Adidas will unveil a host of new colourways for that competition so expect players to remain in the current Prime Blue/High Energy colourway until then.

One thing that you will notice with these colourways is the extra design detail on the boots. The lightweight Sprintskin upper is a revolutionary single layer synthetic which provides incredible ball-feeling and reduced weight and features a ‘frame’ design.

The adiZero F50 miCoach features technologies such as Adidas’ Sprintweb which provides stability during high speed movements.. Adidas groundbreaking Sprintframe uses geometrics and new stud construction to offer the perfect balance between lightweight and stability. MiCoach technology enables both professional and amateur footballers to analyse their personal speed, distance and work rate during a game.
ADIDAS ADIZERO RS7 – BLACK/HIGH ENERGY
AdiZero has become synonymous with light weight performance with Adidas using the name across multiple sports. At TRW we know the AdiZero best as the football boot which kick-started a weight war in the ’speed’ boot category as well as the first ’smart’ boot when they released the AdiZero MiCoach boots. Along side the football boots Adidas released the AdiZero 5-Star which was tailored for American football and the RS7 which was designed for rugby.

After some pretty great looking colourways Adidas have released a new RS7 colourway – Black/High Energy. We really like the new colourway (which looks very similar to the original 5-Star colourway) and we won’t be surprised if we spot a few players sporting this on the football pitch.

ADIDAS PREDATOR LETHAL ZONES: FIRST TOUCH
This is First Touch
First Touch is magnetic. The ball can’t resist its grip.
Kill the ball with one move and kill them with the next.

Adidas have kicked off a unique new campaign for the much anticipated soon to be released Predator LZ football boots. The new LZ promises to be big step forward for the Predator range whih has been at the forefront of boot design for nearly two decades.

Previously know as a ‘power’ boot the new Predator will have a distinct ‘control’ feel to it with the new LZ featuring five innovative zones focused on first touch and control.
Over the coming weeks, adidas will be unveiling each lethal zone through a unique reveal campaign which will see their top players take to the field in special edition Predator LZ football boots. Predator athletes including Kaka, Robin Van Persie and Xavi will be handed distinct pairs of Predator LZ boots each coloured in a way to highlight different zones.

The first zone revealed by adidas on the forefoot of the boot is an area designed to master first touch. The rubber zones act as a cushioning platform on the synthetic upper with the aim of giving immediate ball control. It’s one of five distinctive zones that combine to make this one of the most innovative and exciting football boots in the game!
Real Madrid star Kaka already gave us a look at the boots he will wear for the next 2 games on Twitter while Manchester City’s Samir Nasri wore them against his old club Arsenal at the Emirates.

ADIDAS’ ADIPOWER PREDATOR

Speculation over the new Adidas Predator LZ is gaining momentum as the anticipation and expectation grows ahead of their launch. The Predator LZ is set to be the most groundbreaking Predator ever and we think Adidas have something quite special in store. It does seem like only yesterday however that the AdiPower Predator arrived – and that was a pretty groundbreaking Predator it’s self! Now, after 11 colourways and some spectacular goals (just under 100 in the Premier League alone this season) the boot many people, players and sites voted boot of the year, the AdiPower is set to be replaced by the LZ and we thought we would have a quick look back at all the colourways Adidas gave the AdPower.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Black/Red/White
The LZ is rumoured to be a pretty striking boot but the AdiPower had some serious eye-catching colourway themselves! The AdiPower Predator was launched in the famous Black/Red/White colourway which has become synonymous with the Predator range as well as the Blue/Electricity/White colourway which was an instant hit.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Blue/Electricity/White
David Beckham is the most iconic Predator wearer and one of Adidas’ main athletes. The LA Galaxy star first showed off his signature colourway in Gary Neville’s testimonial game against Juventus in May last year. Beckham’s return to Old Trafford and was the perfect launch for his Gold/Red/Black DB boots to make their debut.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – White/Black/Silver
Adidas’ first AdiPower Predator colourway updates were a little unspectacular. Neither the White/Black/Silver colourway (worn on occasion by Edin Dzeko), nor the Black/Electricity/Splash (worn on occasion by Dirk Kuyt) proved to be a big hit on pitches with many players opting to stick with the original launch colourways.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Black/Electricity/Splash
September saw the UEFA Champions League take centre stage and Adidas launched their Champions League colourway boots. The AdiPower got a great looking White/Purple colourway which featured similar designs on the heel as the official match ball. This colourway proved to be a big hit with Robin Van Persie who seemed to put everything he touched into the back of the net with this colourway.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – White/Purple
The Black/Warning colourway arrived just in time for Halloween and still graces pitches, despite being over 5 months old. This was the last official black based colourway Adidas released and is still worn by the likes of Steven Gerrard and Dimitar Berbatov who prefer black boots.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Black/Warning
David Beckham received his second and current signature colourway in October when his Gold/Red/Black colourway was replaced by this Prime Ink Blue/White/Electricity – a colourway many thought was the best Adidas had released. Before this colourway (Beckham had worn a one-off White/Pink colourway in celebration of his daughter’s birth.)

Adidas AdiPower Predator DB – Prime Ink Blue/White/Electricity
Sometimes simple is best and Adidas proved that with their final white colourway. The White/Cyan/Black is as cool as ice and possibly one of the cleanest colourways Adidas have ever released. This colourway received no official on field support yet still found some game time on the likes of Louis Saha and Tim Cahill.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – White/Cyan/Black
The current official colourway is Slime/Navy/White and has proven to be a big hit with boot fans around the world. It was ‘Slime’s’ first appearance on the Predator range having been used on the AdiZero previously. We are sure we will see more eye-catching colourways like this for the LZ when they are released.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Slime/Navy/White
The end of the AdiPower Predator was confirmed when Adidas released the Black/Black colourway. Adidas have created a tradition of releasing a black-out version of their boots as final colourway – a tradition that is loved by boot fans.

Adidas AdiPower Predator – Black/Black (Black-out)
When the LZ arrives they will have a difficult job bettering the AdiPower’s colourways but the job of beating their performance and popularity will be an even bigger challenge. The LZ promises much but we won’t be surprised if we still see a good number of AdiPower Predators hanging around.
ADIDAS UNVEIL TEAM GB OLYMPIC KITS
Adidas combines the best in performance technologies with stand-out British design to present the best equipped team in history – Adidas Team GB designed by Stella McCartney
adidas, Official Sportswear Partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB today proudly presented the ground-breaking team kit that will be worn by the British athletes at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Designed by acclaimed British designer Stella McCartney, who was appointed by adidas as Creative Director for this project, the kit is the most comprehensive range that’s ever been supplied to a national team, combining the best in performance technologies and stand-out British style.

The new kits to be worn by Team GB athletes – designed by Stella McCartney for Adidas
Over two years in the making, McCartney’s design of the kit focusses on the Union flag, breaking down the iconic design and reconstructing it, creating a modern and contemporary twist. The result is a bold design that features on all items of the kit to ensure the British athletes stand out in front of the home crowd as a unified team.
Stella McCartney said: “The first place to start on a project like this is to look at the Union flag. For me it’s one of the most beautiful flags in the world and it was important for me to stay true to that iconic design but also to modernise it and present it in a contemporary way. Ultimately, we wanted the athletes to feel like a team and be proud with the identity we created.”

The kit was revealed in spectacular style at the Tower of London where over 30 athletes including Jessica Ennis, Phillips Idowu and Ellie Simmonds showcased the performance range including competition kit, training wear, the presentation suit, footwear and accessories.
Nick Craggs, Marketing Director, adidas UK said: “All eyes will be on the British athletes when they take the stage at the Games so we wanted to ensure that they would be the best equipped team through a combination of leading technologies, including TECHFIT, PowerWEB and Climacool and a unified, striking team identity.”

Adidas’ new Team GB football jersey boosts Techfit, PowerWeb and ClimaCool technology
adidas will supply over 900 British athletes across the 26 Olympic and 20 Paralympic sports producing a total of approximately 175,000 items of clothing. This is made up of 590 individual articles that have been created to ensure the British team will be the best equipped nation for the Games.

Jack Rodwell wore the new Team GB football team kit at the launch
We were obviously most interested in the new kit that the Team GB football team will be wearing. It was worn by Jack Rodwell for the launch but there is still a lot of debate about who will actually represent Team GB’s football team. The likes of David Beckham and Gareth Bale have spoken about their keeness – and that is certainly something we would like to see!

Replica ranges of the British team kit will go on sale in April, including football, tennis, cycling, basketball, athletics and swimwear.
