CTR360-XI

The release of the Nike CTR360 seems to have revolutionized the midfield. It is not just the men in the middle who are wearing this ground-breaking boot however. More and more players seem to be moving across to the CTR. Players such as Joe Cole and Heurelho Gomes have been spotted in them. The likes of Ashley Cole and Alessandro Diamanti can’t seem to take them off. Making up our XI was suprisingly difficult. Who do you pick in the midfield with so many options available? There are not a plethora of options in goal or upfront however. Despite that we think we have a pretty formidable team here.

So who gets into The Right Winger’s dream CTR360 XI?

Striker:
Landon Donovan saved the day for us as he can play up front. The on-loan American has been a massive hit on the Merseyside. Everton have spoken about their desire to keep him longer but it does seem that a return to the USA is the mostly likely thing to happen. Pity!

Midfielders:
Alessandro Diamanti has been impressive for West Ham. With a shortage of out and out strikers wearing CTR360’s, we packed another attacking midfielder into the middle. It would be fun to watch his link-up play with Cesc Fabregas.
Cesc Fabregas is the player Nike built the launch of the CTR360 around. For that reason alone he needs to be in this side. We won’t forget that he is in fact seriously good as well though.
Javier Mascherano has been one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers over the past couple of years. Gerrard and Torres usually get the glory but Javier has been just as important. He can have a rush of blood to the head every now and then however.
James Milner has seen his star rise at a rapid rate recently. Rated by many as a future England captain, Milner has enjoyed most of this season playing down the middle for Aston Villa. His versatility is his greatest strength as he is comfortable at right back, on either wing or down the middle.
Florent Malouda has been a revelation at Chelsea. Arguably one of the Blues’ best players this season, Malouda has pace to burn and a powerful shot.

Defenders:
Ashley Cole was once a great F50 wearer before his contract ran out. He was then seen in Puma V1.08 boots before the release of the CTR360. He is currently out with an injury and plagued with back page scandal. Despite it all he remains England’s best left back, by far.
Joleon Lescott’s move to Man City wasn’t a smooth one with Everton left feeling most aggrieved. His City career has been stunted by some injury problems. He isn’t England’s first choice centre-back but his performances deserve him a spot in the squad.
Daniel Agger is another player who has been unfortunate with injuries. The Liverpool defender certainly seems to be Rafa’s first choice when he is fit. We at The Right Winger are big fans of the young Dane.
James Collins has been brilliant for Aston Villa. He is actually a centre-back but we felt he could do a good job at right-back. A good old fashioned, no-nonsense defender.

Goal Keeper:
Ben Foster. We struggled to find a keeper that wears CTR360 on a frequent basis. Foster seems to be the only one really. Foster is another player we have a lot of time for. With more game time and a few confidence boosters we believe he has what it takes to be both Manchester United’s and England’s number 1.

The bench (or special mention):
Tom Huddlestone
Johnny Evans
